Euroregion Baltic Executive Board Meeting

Euroregion Baltic Executive Board met yesterday at the headquarters of the Marshal's Office of Pomorskie Voivodeship. During the meeting, last year's work was summarized and plans for the coming year were set. In accordance with the order of rotation, the Kronoberg Region handed over its presidency to the Pomeranian Voivodeship, which nominated Deputy Marshal of the Pomeranian Voivodeship, Leszek Bonna, for the position of ERB President. Kalmar Region was nominated to serve as Vice President.

During the meeting, the minutes of the previous online meeting of the ERB Executive Board (December 9, 2024) were signed, the ERB 2024 Annual Report and the current financial status were presented. As mentioned above, there was a handover of the ERB Presidency and a presentation of the priorities of the Pomeranian Voivodeship for the ERB Presidency in 2025.

Also on the agenda was the issue of preparing for the establishment of an EGTC. In order to streamline the process of preparation for the establishment of the EGTC there will be, among other things. : requesting each member organization to authorize Marcin Kuchciński, Marshal of the Warmińsko-Mazurskie Voivodeship, to carry out activities related to the registration of the grouping in the register kept by the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, requesting each member organization to nominate its representatives to the EGTC's bodies: the General Assembly, the Youth Council and the Supervisory Committee, recommending the member organizations to start liquidation procedures of the ERB, pointing out that formally liquidation should take place at the moment of registration of the Grouping by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland.

In addition, Ms. Anna Drążek from the Regional Office of the Pomeranian Voivodeship in Brussels presented an update on European affairs. Mr. Łukasz Bielewski, a member of the Monitoring Committee of the South Baltic Program on behalf of the ERB, reported on the current status of the program, and within the ERB Water Working Group, Mr. Marcin Żuchowski, director of the APC ERB Secretariat, presented the current status of the Waterman project.

The Euroregion Baltic Youth Board also had its meeting. The youth at the meeting also summarized their activities to date and discussed their upcoming plans. A new chairman was elected, who became Jakub Hamanowicz. During the ERB Presidium meeting, he presented plans for future activities of the ERB Youth Board.

The next meeting of the ERB Presidium is planned for May 2025.
