Workshops as part of the Cone project
On 28.03.2025, the first meeting was held to raise awareness among residents, and more specifically, we focused on a group of young people from Tolkmicko from the School and Kindergarten Complex, where we will be implementing a pilot as part of the CONE project. As part of the project, we will create solutions to urban challenges caused by climate change. Among other things, it is planned to create a small rain garden that will allow the use of rainwater collected from the school roof. In this way, a place will be created where young people will be able to spend their free time.
Students from two classes took part in a workshop conducted by representatives of the Association and the Gdańsk University of Technology. Students learned about the ongoing climate change, how rain gardens work and how they can create and use rainwater. It is particularly valuable because there are only 3% of freshwater resources on Earth. That is why it is so important to collect rainwater or reuse purified water.
During group work, they presented their ideas for what a rain garden could look like, which will be implemented at the School and Kindergarten Complex, and how they will take care of it.
We would like to thank all participants for their commitment, creativity and great atmosphere. We are one step closer to creating a unique place in Tolkmicko - combining nature, education and space for rest.
