NBS Markets - second online meeting

The NBS MARKETS seed project, which aims to create strong partnerships that work together to develop and test methods to bring nature-based solutions to markets, is successfully underway. The second online meeting of the NBS MARKETS project has just concluded. Today, project partners discussed future project activities, the selection of potential pilot sites and partners. Participants in the meeting also shared information about their knowledge and skills important for the project endeavours and defined their role in the project.

Proposals from the Association of Polish Communes Euroregion Baltic to contribute to the project included: support for pilot investments and stakeholders responsible for the case study sites, e.g. support to local authorities, through activities such as promotion or study visits; facilitation of workshops and trainings for professionals and citizens (as part of a transnational workshop and training); networking, such as task forces and working groups; improvement of local strategies and creation of guidelines; transferability of results (strategies, reports etc.); digitalisation of results and methods, such as animations, knowledge pills, promotional videos; information for 40 local authorities from two regions in Poland and 8 regions in the ERB.

The proposed pilot sites identified by the STG ERB are Olsztyn and Tolkmicko, from the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, and Dzierzgoń from the Pomeranian Voivodeship.

The NBS Markets project is implemented with seed funding from the Interreg South Baltic programme.

The project partners are: Association of Polish Communes Euroregion Baltic (leader), Gdańsk University of Technology, the City Initiative Association, Skoodas district Municipality, University of Wismar.
