The General Assembly meeting of the ERB EGTC and the latest meeting of the informal international ERB network
European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation Baltic Euroregion – General Assembly Meeting and the latest session of the informal international ERB network.
On March 17 and 18, a two-day meeting was held in Kalmar dedicated to the current operations and future of the Baltic Euroregion. The proceedings were both formal and strategic in nature, resulting in a number of significant decisions.
An important part of the proceedings involved organizational and personnel changes, including the appointment of new members and updates to the supervisory structures. There was also a handover of the presidency; the role was assumed by Maria Ixcot Nilsson from Kalmar County, and the Vice President became Michał Kontraktowicz, Mayor of Stawiguda Municipality, representing the Association of Polish Municipalities in the Baltic Euroregion. Hanna Pruchniewska, Mayor of Puck, was appointed Vice Chair of the Audit Committee.
A key decision was made to terminate the 1998 agreement establishing the Baltic Euroregion, marking a significant step toward further transforming the cooperation framework. Financial and operational matters were also discussed. The priorities of the new presidency, the action plan for 2026–2027, and current progress in organizing the work were presented.
During the meeting, the results of international projects were presented, and directions for further cooperation were discussed. There were also thematic discussions, working meetings, and partner talks.
This meeting marked an important milestone for the international cooperation of the Euroregion Baltic EGTC, setting out the next steps in its development and defining the framework for its activities in the near future.
