Promotion of BaltWreck project at international conference in Sopot

The international event 4th Mission Arena Blue Mission BANOS took place in Sopot on April 28-29, during which the BaltWreck project was promoted. During the two-day conference, held at the Haffner Hotel, discussions were held on the protection of seas and waters, sustainable development and innovation in the maritime economy.
During the second day of the 4th Mission Arena event, our Association - as a partner of the BaltWreck project - had the honor of co-organizing a workshop on one of the greatest environmental threats in the Baltic Sea region - sunken munitions and shipwrecks. In addition to us, the event involved partners from nine European projects dealing with wrecks and sunken ammunition: BaltWreck, MUNI-RISK, MUNIMAP, MMinE-SwEEPER, REMARCO, CONMAR II, EROVMUS, BorDEx, IRAV.
The workshop focused on a common approach to the problem of dumped munitions and wrecks - a real threat to the environment, security and economic development in the Baltic Sea region. We talked about new technologies, risk mapping, education, cooperation with local governments and the need to create transnational management mechanisms.
By sharing knowledge and experience, we are building a European network for safe, clean and sustainable seas.
